This article was published in ‘Varoom: issue 3, 2007; the journal of illustration & made images.’ The article consists of lots of background information of David Foldvari, whereas at the same time, the amount of information & explanations of just some of Davids work is incredible.
Throughout the article, its mostly just a description from David himself, as to what the art pieces really mean & corrispond to. To start the article off, the publisher really goes into depth of the background of David, explaining where he was born, when he was born, where he was raised, his religeous background, when he started/ looked at what he’s doing right now, & even his furure plans & developments of what he wants or hopes about coming across.
Every single word & information thats said within this interview/ article, completely, & totally relates to something else withuin the article. For example, all the art pieces are labelled with a number, this number can be then found at the bottom of the page with some information about the art work, such as when it was published, where it was published, the artwork name, ( if it has an officialized name ).
The content within the publication speaks of who David has provided work for, just literally his own personal work, & again, a fully detailed meaning from each piece.
The article itself, has such a good use of contrast of colour, & even text itself. Even the layout is one of the main features of this article, to myself anyway. Using only black & white all the way through the background & text, is a good way to reference back to the colour scheme of Davids work, as he also only uses the colours of black & white, & the odd dash of pink & red here and there.
In conclusion, I’m really glad i decided to take the time & read through the entire of this article, due to it being, not only helpful, but really good to review about and somehow gain me more knowledge of what to look for in the future, not only in life as such, but to what to compare work to also.
